At Southwest ISD, two former board members are again attempting comebacks.
The seven-member board serves staggered, three-year terms, and includes many longtime incumbents.

This year the district changed a controversial voting policy, allowing people to cast their ballots for school board races at any Bexar County voting location.
Early voting runs April 20 through April 28, though polls will be closed on Friday, April 24 for the Battle of Flowers Parade.
Polls will be open 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on election day, Saturday, May 2.
Candidate information comes from candidate websites, filing documents and other sources. Names are listed below in the order they’ll appear on the ballot.
Candidates for Southwest ISD — two at-large positions
Incumbents James Gonzalez and Jose Diaz face challenges from previous SWISD members Yolanda Garza-Lopez and Peter Bernal.
All SWISD board positions are elected at-large, meaning they represent the entire school district as opposed to a specific geographic region.
All four candidates for the two positions up this year will all appear together on the May 2 ballot, with the top-two vote takers winning outright.
