Journalism is vital to our democracy. We believe it should be free and accessible to everyone. That’s why we don’t have a paywall on our site or charge a subscription fee.

We believe there is another way to fund quality, local journalism. We ask our readers and civic-minded businesses and nonprofits to contribute to sustain essential public service reporting.

As a newsroom supported by a growing number of members from all over the community, we can build a sustainable business model for local, independent news.

We exist for the community and are supported by it. By relying on donations from community members and organizations to cover the costs of journalism – like fees associated with open records requests and salaries for talented, passionate reporters – our newsroom is constantly reminded of who it ultimately serves: you.

If you value our work, support it by donating to become a member.

You can make updates to your membership donation at any time by accessing the contributor portal using this link. You will need to provide the email you used to make the contribution to access the portal. Once logged in, you will be able to see your payment history for any donations you’ve made online with a credit card and can cancel the open pledge.

If you have additional questions regarding your membership and donation history, or would like assistance making updates to your donation, please contact us at membership@sareport.org.
