Unlike most school districts in the Bexar County region, Medina Valley ISD has been quickly growing in enrollment as development booms on the far West Side of San Antonio and Castroville.

This year it is electing two out of seven school board members on the May 2 ballot.

Voters who live in the Medina County portion of the district must use a Medina County polling site to cast their ballot in the school board races.

Voters who live in Bexar County can use any Bexar County early voting location or Bexar County election day vote center.

Early voting runs April 20 through April 28, with hours varying by day.

Polls will be open 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on election day, Saturday, May 2.

Candidate information comes from candidate websites, filing documents and other sources.

Medina Valley ISD Board of Trustees at-large candidates

The seven-member board includes two at-large members, who are elected by the entire school district, as well as five at-large members, who represent a specific geographic region.

All members serve staggered three-year terms

The two seats up for reelection this year are the district’s at-large positions, currently held by Blane Nash, who was elected in 2023, and Nathan Fillinger, the board’s current president.

Appearing all on the same ballot, the two top vote-takers will win the seats outright.
