Bexar County continued to see an exponential increase in coronavirus cases, said local officials on Friday, as 412 more infections were reported, bringing the total caseload to 5,962. Four additional deaths – three Hispanic women between age 60 to 90 and one white woman in her 70s – brought the local toll to 96.

The county continued to see a startling rise in the number of hospitalizations – up 55 from 267 on Thursday to 322 on Friday.

Of the 322 COVID-19 patients, 101 are in intensive care and 50 patients are on ventilators. As recently as June 6, the number of patients hospitalized was 84.
