The San Antonio Stock Show and Rodeo fairgrounds were completely blanketed with cowboy hats, barbecue, carnival games and rides for the whole family. I slipped through the enormous crowds and long lines to capture some of the activities.
There’s no shortage of things to do with everything from a petting zoo, snake house, wine tasting tent, and a giant marketplace full of mattresses, leather goods, and – of course – custom cowboy hats.
Horse auctions were definitely the serious business of the afternoon with some horses going for upwards of $15,000. I believe my favorite attraction had to have been the pig race, it definitely had everyone at the edge of their seat.
