The San Antonio region regularly appears on top 10 lists – one being “fastest growing.” We’ve added jobs in tech, cyber, manufacturing, and life sciences. Our cost of living strikes the right balance for young professionals and families that can enjoy everything the city has to offer – from the burgeoning food scene and night life to family-friendly entertainment and outdoor recreation. I know that San Antonio and the incredible surrounding communities can rise to the next level if we listen to each other and work together to grow thoughtfully and strategically.
With support from regional partners and private sector investors, the San Antonio Economic Development Foundation (SAEDF) is leading an effort to develop a collaborative, regional economic development strategy. At the end of the process, our region will have an ambitious new plan that challenges us to think differently and act urgently with respect to economic and workforce development. This process represents an opportunity to chart a new course for the growth of our region, and to that end the entire region’s participation is extremely valuable in our collective effort to get it right.
A committee of business leaders, led by Weston Urban CEO Randy Smith and Kairoi CEO Mike Lynd, has engaged stakeholders across the community for input into this process. To broaden our reach, we also have deployed a regional survey. The more responses we get, the better and more diverse our data will be. This isn’t just about San Antonio’s city limits. This is about a comprehensive regional strategy to become the economic powerhouse we deserve to live in.
Please take and share the regional survey in English: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/sanantonioregion or in Spanish: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/SanAntonioRegion_esp. Share this with your friends, family, coworkers – we mean everyone. The survey closes Monday, July 1, at 5 p.m. CDT.
With your input, this process will inform an inclusive strategic plan to make our region a more prosperous and vibrant place to live, work, and do business.
We’d like to assure anyone with questions regarding the validity of this survey that it is administered by the San Antonio Economic Development Foundation (SAEDF) in partnership with economic development organizations throughout the San Antonio region and 100 percent legitimate. SAEDF is a private-public nonprofit that leads coordinated economic growth and diversification efforts. We recruit new business, help local companies grow, and bridge the gap between education and industry to build a sustainable workforce pipeline for the community. In other words, we help create and fill jobs. SAEDF is supported by 165 private companies, the City of San Antonio, Bexar County, CPS Energy, and SAWS. We greatly appreciate your input. It will directly inform the community’s regional strategy for a more prosperous and vibrant place to live, work and do business. Survey responses are completely anonymous and will not be sold to any third-party entity.
