The summer is anything but a break for college and university officials. It’s prime time for enrollment and registration events as they get ready to welcome large numbers of first-time and returning students.
San Antonio students have about a month left before the start of the fall semester and important dates, such as registration and payment deadlines, dorm move-in days and more, are right around the corner. Not to mention the first day of classes.
Every San Antonio institution has a slightly different way to do things. So we put together a list of the important fall 2026 dates for local institutions:
Alamo Colleges District
- Classes begin on Aug. 24 across the five Alamo Colleges District institutions — San Antonio College, St. Philip’s College, Palo Alto College, Northwest Vista College and Northeast Lakeview College.
- The last day to apply for admission for the first part of the fall semester is Aug. 14. Admissions for the second part of the semester end on Aug. 29.
- Registrations end on Aug. 23, for the first portion of the fall, and on Sept. 7 for the second part.
- Census Date lands on Sept. 9 for the first part of the fall and on Sept. 21 for the second portion. This also marks the last day to withdraw from a course.
- Students with unpaid balances or those who didn’t register for a payment plan risk getting dropped from a course by Census Date.
The University of Texas at San Antonio
- Fall classes at UT San Antonio begin on Aug. 19.
- Financial aid disbursement is on Aug. 9.
- Early registration closes on Aug. 7, and late registration begins on Aug. 10.
- The last day to drop a course with 100% refund is Aug. 18, refunds are reduced after this date.
- The deadline to pay your balance or enroll in a payment plan to avoid late fees is Aug. 19 by 5 p.m.
- For those who register late, the second payment deadline is Aug. 28 by 5 p.m.
- Census date is Sept. 3. This is also the final payment deadline and the last day to drop or withdraw without a grade.
- Fall 2026 dorm move-in dates are Aug. 14 through the 16. Students will receive emails detailing the specific date and time for their building move-in.
Texas A&M-San Antonio
- Fall classes at TAMUSA begin on Aug. 24.
- Billing statements are issued on Aug. 19
- The last day to pay off balances or enroll in a payment plan is Aug. 20. Late fees begin on Aug. 21.
- The last day to drop a course with 100% refund is Aug. 21, refunds are reduced after this date.
- Class registration ends on Aug. 31.
- Census date is on Sept. 9. Students with unpaid balances or those who didn’t enroll in a payment plan by 4:59 p.m. may be dropped for non-payment.
- Dorm move-in day for all students is on Aug. 14.
Trinity University
- Fall classes at Trinity University begin on Aug. 24.
- New students are scheduled to arrive on campus on Aug. 21, and residence halls open between then and Aug. 23.
- Enrollment for the fall semester started on July 15 and end son Aug. 3
- Late enrollment starts on Aug. 4 and ends on Sept. 9.
- Tuition payments are due by Aug. 5.
- Those enrolled in a payment plan will begin their installments on Aug. 5.
- The deadline to add or drop classes is on Aug. 31
University of the Incarnate Word
- Fall classes at UIW begin on Aug. 24.
- The last day to enroll, add or change courses is Aug. 31. This is also the last day to get 100% refunds on classes and to make payment arrangements.
- The Mass of the Holy Spirit, which commemorates the beginning of the fall semester, takes place on Sept. 2.
- Census date is on Sept. 14.
- The last day to withdraw from a course is Sept. 28.
- Move-in days vary for those moving into UIW residence halls. First-year students will begin moving in on Thursday, Aug. 20, and upper-level students are scheduled for Friday, Aug. 21.
St. Mary’s University
- Fall classes at St. Mary’s begin on Aug. 18.
- On Aug. 18 and 19 the university will hold a One-Stop Shop event where student success staff will be available to answer questions on financial aid, bills, registration and more.
- The last day to add a class for the fall semester is Aug. 24. It is also the last day to register without a late fee.
- The Opening School Liturgy: Mass of the Holy Spirit will be held on Aug. 27, to commemorate the start of the academic year.
- Census date takes place on Sept. 2.
- Housing move-in dates for the fall semester are Aug.12 for new students who attended orientation in August, and on Aug. 13 for new students who attended orientation in July.
Our Lady of the Lake University
- Fall classes at OLLU begin on Aug. 17.
- The last day to register without a late fee is Aug. 16.
- Late registration is on Aug. 17 and 18.
- The last day to add or drop a course is Aug. 21. This is also the last day to receive a 100% refund.
- Spirit Day Mass will be held on Sept. 10, to commemorate the start of the academic year.
- OLLU’s residence halls are open to first-time students on Aug. 13 for move-in. Returning students are slated to move in on Aug. 14.
