Beginning Monday and continuing through Saturday, participating restaurants around the city will offer affordable, prix-fixe menus for lunch and dinner.
Culinaria has long been known for showcasing the best of San Antonio’s culinary community, and Restaurant Week is one of its most popular events.
“There is such a demand for Restaurant Week,” said Culinaria founder Suzanne Taranto-Etheredge. “We wanted to extend the event another week and start the year off showcasing the talented culinary community we have here in San Antonio.”
Restaurant Week, like all of Culinaria’s other events, raises money for various philanthropic and charitable causes including the Chefs 4 Chefs program, the urban farm campaign, and scholarship fund. With each meal ordered specifically through the Restaurant Week menus, restaurants will donate $1 for lunch and $2 for dinner to Culinaria and the programs it supports.
Also new for this Restaurant Week, participating restaurants fall into one of two pricing tiers. Tier 1 restaurants offer a $35 dinner and $15 lunch special, while Tier 2 restaurants are priced at $25 for dinner and $10 for lunch. This new pricing structure enables the adventurous and budget-conscious diners alike to get out and try something new from one (or several) of San Antonio’s restaurants or visit an old favorite spot.
Be sure to eat up, as the event is only six days long. If you can’t fit in all of the restaurants you’d like to visit, don’t worry.
“Of course we will still be hosting another Restaurant Week in August,” Taranto-Etheredge said.
