A body was found in the San Antonio River at 12:17 p.m. Monday in the 100 block of Villita Street, just east of Bexar County Courthouse.
The San Antonio Police Department has classified it as an apparent sudden death.
Camelia Juarez, SAPD public information officer, wrote in an email that the SAPD Homicide Unit responded to the scene of a report of an unidentified dead man in the water and that the investigation is ongoing.
The San Antonio Fire Department retrieved the body and sent to the Bexar County Medical Examiner’s Office, which will investigate the person’s cause of death.
