Here are the 2024 primary candidates running for the two State Board of Education districts that include Bexar County. State Board of Education members set curriculum standards for the state’s public schools, set educational policies, review instructional materials and have the power to veto charter school applications. The board, made up of one member from each of the state’s 15 districts, also oversees the Texas Permanent School Fund. Candidate information comes from Texas Secretary of State data, the candidates and other sources.
