San Antonio’s City Council District 9 encompasses the city’s far North side, starting north of Loop 410.

Longtime Councilman John Courage (D9) is leaving the seat to run for mayor and seven candidates are vying to replace him. If no candidate takes at least 50% of the vote on May 3, the top two finishers will advance to a June 7 runoff.
