Councilman Jalen McKee-Rodriguez (D2), who beat out his former boss to win the seat in 2021 , faces seven challengers as he seeks a third term. If no candidate takes at least 50% of the vote on May 3, the top two finishers will advance to a June 7 runoff .
All of San Antonio’s 10 City Council seats will be on the May 3 municipal election ballot, along with a crowded mayoral race .
Council members elected this year will serve a four-year term, thanks to new longer council limits approved by voters in November.
The job will pay $70,200 per year.
