Dozens of Texas longhorns took to the streets of downtown San Antonio during Saturday’s Western Heritage Parade to help kick off the San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo.
Saturday’s event, commemorating the San Antonio area’s role as a hub for a number of the great Texas cattle drives of the late 19th century, drew hundreds of spectators along West Houston Street from Interstate 35 to North Main Avenue and continuing on East Houston Street to the Alamo.
The San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo, with its youth livestock show, Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association events and post-rodeo concert series, runs Feb. 10-27.
