President Donald Trump is planning to return to Texas this month to raise money for his re-election campaign, according to people familiar with his plans.
Trump has scheduled fundraisers on April 10 in Houston and San Antonio, according to those sources. Asked about the trip, the White House said it did not have any scheduling announcements to make at this time.
Trump last visited Texas in mid-February, when he went to El Paso to rally support for a border wall. That event drew a counter-rally headlined by Beto O’Rourke, the former congressman and U.S. Senate nominee who has since entered the presidential contest.
O’Rourke is not the only Texas Democrat running to take on Trump. Julián Castro, the former U.S. housing secretary and San Antonio mayor, is also in the race.
Castro wasted little time reacting to the Trump fundraiser in his hometown, announcing plans for a rally at the same time.
“San Antonio prides itself on its culture, its hospitality, and its diversity—the opposite of what Donald Trump stands for,” Castro tweeted Friday evening. “Join us on April 10th—let’s show him what a strong, diverse America looks like.”

Apparently Castro is unaware or for the sake of politics ignoring the black eye SA got for being intolerant re CFA at the airport and the RNC incident. As usual he is not proactive, but reactive trying to jump in wherever he might get media attention. That’s not leadership…
Castro is now for open borders. That’s a winner.
Just like Julián to ride someone’s coattails
Where is the fundraising event? I would like to be there !
I too would like to know where the fundraiser is. I definitely would go. Win BIG in 2020 President Trump! This country needs you! Julián Castro is a joke.
