St. Philip’s College is preparing to host its 31st annual CultureFest and Rib Cook-Off, the only official Fiesta event located in the East Side of San Antonio.

The family-friendly event takes place on Thursday, April 23, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at St. Philip’s MLK campus, located at 1801 Martin Luther King Drive, with all proceeds going to support scholarship funds, according to college officials.

“It is a high-energy and kid-friendly festival featuring a rib cook-off, live music, a car show, food and non-food vendors, and several grill raffles, all in one location,” according to the online event page.

These competitions include the traditional rib cook-off, a dessert bake-off, and a beverage competition. The college will also raffle nine custom barbecue grills handcrafted by St. Philip’s welding students, with tickets starting at $10.

While there’s no cost of admission, tickets for food vendors, the raffle and entry fees for the competitions are available online.
