Draped with an American flag, Yander Romero douses his eleke, a green and yellow necklace, with rum after reuniting with family outside of a migrant resource center on Friday. Romero arrived in San Antonio after leaving his home country of Cuba on June 21 and crossing into the U.S. on July 13. He received the bracelet after partaking in a three-day ceremony known as the Mano de Orula, a Santeria ceremony in which an individual discovers their destiny.
