Friday from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. at the San Antonio Food Bank, Chef Asantewaa presents the Secret Food Stories Festival. Asantewaa, from South Sudan, brings together a world of flavors with 16 guest chefs offering zero-waste dishes alongside a sustainability art exhibition, panel discussion and music by BillyRay Sheppard.
Fridays and Saturdays during summer, the all-day, kid-friendly Fiesta Noche del Rio at Arneson River Theatre presents mariachis, flamenco guitar, snacks and cool beverages all to benefit children’s charities.
And Saturday at 2 p.m., University of Texas at Austin art curator Phillip A. Townsend visits Ruby City for a talk enticingly titled “Moon Lit Joy,” about an evocative print by British artist Chris Ofili. The event is free.
