Many San Antonio school districts announced they would remain closed Friday, with freezing temperatures and heavy rainfall creating icy road conditions late Thursday.
School officials anticipate resuming classes and extracurricular activities Monday.
“We are monitoring several factors including the closure of several major roadways and the likelihood that those roads will continue to be closed into Friday,” Northside Independent School District said in a letter to families and staff. “We have also been told that the water on roads and bridges will certainly freeze overnight and not melt again until the afternoon.”
These school districts and charter schools have canceled class and extracurricular activities Friday:
- Northside ISD
- North East ISD
- San Antonio ISD
- Edgewood ISD
- Harlandale ISD
- East Central ISD

Pre K 4 SA also announced its locations would be closed Friday.
