San Antonio Sports is bringing more tennis to San Antonio, this time by expanding its reach to international competitors, bringing Americans Venus Williams and John Isner and Ukraine’s Elina Svitolina to San Antonio in November.

The San Antonio International Championships will feature two competing teams of top Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) and Women’s Tennis Association players (WTA), college players and top-ranked Texas junior players at Freeman Coliseum Nov. 10-12. 

Williams, Svitolina, Isner, Bob Bryan and J.J. Wolf will lead the San Antonio Smash team. The Austin Capitals will include Sloane Stephens, Peyton Stearns, France’s Gaël Monfils, Mike Bryan and Jack Sock. 

College players from Baylor, the University of Texas at Austin, Texas A&M University, UTSA, the University of Texas Permian Basin, Trinity University, the University of the Incarnate Word and Southwestern University and top juniors from John Newcombe’s Tennis Ranch and Austin Tennis Academy also will be part of the team event.

Tickets go on sale on Aug. 26.
