The Rivard Report is looking for a part-time editor to join our small startup team and help build our fast-growing community media site. Our ideal candidate loves storytelling, is well read and informed about current and local events, has solid copy editing skills, an eye for good grammar and an appreciation for good writing.

[UPDATE: We’ve received a wonderful response to our call for a part-time editor. To be able to keep up with all these fantastic applicants, we’re going to have to CLOSE application submission on Friday, April 18 at noon. So if you’ve been putting it off: stop it. ]

Everyone on our team works regularly with community contributors, many of whom have never written for publication and welcome hands-on support. We like good stories told from a fresh angle. Living in the urban core would be a plus. A respect and appreciation for diversity is a must.

Interested candidates should be familiar with digital/social media and content management systems (we operate on WordPress) or demonstrate a capacity to learn quickly.

Work hours and conditions are flexible. Some work from home or your favorite coffee shop is possible, but we publish every day, so weekend and evening work is part of the routine. Candidates must have a laptop and cell phone.

The part-time position could grow into a full-time position with salary and benefits. We seek a creative, energetic individual with a positive attitude. Contact us if you have the right skills and would like to be part of a creative collaborative where there is no clock-punching – only commitment to craft, mission and life and work in San Antonio.

Interested parties can send a resume and cover letter to rivard@rivardreport.com and iris@rivardreport.com.
