There’s still a chance to register to vote for the runoff election that includes San Antonio’s mayoral and City Council races.

But hurry, the deadline is coming up on May 8.

Registration can be done through the Bexar County Elections Department website. Bexar County residents can also check their registration status here.

With Gina Ortiz Jones and Rolando Pablos coming out on top of the mayor’s race after the dust settled on Saturday, it is now a guarantee there’ll be a runoff election, as neither candidate reached the desired 50% vote.

On a similar note, District 1, District 6, District 8 and District 9 also are headed to runoffs. Residents can check their council district through this website from the City of San Antonio to determine which council race will be on their ballot.

Early voter turnout for the May 3 election was “dramatically low” in San Antonio, but there’s still time to register to cast a runoff vote early or on election day.

Polls will be open in the runoff election from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturday, June 7, with early voting available May 27 through June 3.
