As Fiesta San Antonio hurtles through parades and pageantry, Pullman Market will throw a party of its own
A one-year anniversary celebration on Saturday from 1-5 p.m. will feature a block party inside and around the 53,000-square-foot culinary hub at the Pearl.
The event will include live music, arts and crafts and dishes from some of the city’s best-known restaurants, such as Mixtli, Southerleigh, Leche de Tigre, Pharm Table, The Jerk Shack, Freight Fried Chicken, Supper and Pullman’s Mezquite.
“This lines up with Fiesta season,” said Luis Benedetto, Pullman’s director of operations. “We’re super excited to celebrate one year.”
Admission is free, with restaurant bites ranging from $5 to $20. Aguas frescas, sodas, non-alcoholic beverages, beer and wine are $5, while house cocktails are $10. Drinks must be purchased with drink tickets. A portion of the proceeds will benefit the San Antonio Food Bank.
RSVPs are encouraged. Benedetto says more than 600 RSVPs have been received. He expects a crowd of close to 1,000.
Since opening last April, Pullman Market has become a Pearl fixture, offering a specialty grocer, five eateries and four full-service restaurants.
Recognition has come quickly. Nicosi, a 20-seat dessert bar, received a Michelin recommendation and Esquire named Chef Tavel Bristol-Joseph “Pastry Chef of the Year” in 2024.
The celebration will highlight Pullman’s mission “of bringing local land to local hands” from award-winning restaurants. The market sources all of its products within 150 miles of San Antonio.
“Part of our mission is to highlight the bounty of Texas,” Benedetto said, “and become a space where the community and our local producers, our farmers, ranchers and artisans, can all come together.”
