Schuchardt is the owner of a trucking business who ran a largely self-funded campaign for San Antonio mayor in 2023. In a nine-candidate field, he finished second to incumbent Ron Nirenberg and drew nearly 22% of the vote. In 2024, he is challenging incumbent Precinct 3 County Commissioner Grant Moody in the Republican primary. A San Antonio native, he graduated from Texas A&M University with a degree in maritime business administration.
