Plácido Domingo has been called the greatest voice in opera. Bags Live USA is proud to present Plácido Domingo in concert on Oct. 18, at 8 p.m. at the Alamodome.

The family-friendly concert is a pre-celebration of San Antonio’s 2018 Tricentennial.  It will appeal to those passionate about opera and popular music as well. The event will take place in the Illusions Theater at the Alamodom. Tickets range from $49 to $400. The $400 tickets includes a cocktail reception after the show. Details are still being worked out. Domingo has earned 12 Grammy and two Emmy Awards, has conducted more than 500 performances worldwide, and sang in every important opera house in the world.

He’s performed before estimated television audience of 2 billion people at the closing ceremony of the Beijing Olympics.

He is also known worldwide for his charitable giving which is why the San Antonio concert will be dedicated to the survivors of Hurricanes Harvey, Irma, Maria and the Mexico Earthquake. Proceeds from ticket sales will go to a natural disaster fund in Domingo’s name and the American Red Cross.

Domingo has collaborated on many fundraisers in his career and this one is no different. Guest artists are being lined up to perform, with San Antonio’s Ally Brooke Hernandez, a member of the award-winning multi-platinum selling girl group Fifth Harmony, already being confirmed. Hernandez has an enormous love and pride for her hometown and is known for her powerhouse voice and remarkable spirit.

Domingo has a strong connection to the Alamo City. While San Antonio was largely spared by Hurricane Harvey, San Antonians are known for their giving spirit. That is why Oct. 18 will be a day of giving back for those who visit the Alamodome.
