San Antonio City Council chambers were packed Wednesday evening with a standing room only crowd for the inauguration ceremony for the 2015-2017 City Council and Mayor Ivy Taylor. Friends, family, and supporters from across the U.S. were in attendance as the public servants took their oaths.
Introductions to City staff were given by master of ceremonies and KENS 5 Meteorologist Bill Taylor, followed by remarks from Mayor Ivy Taylor followed by each district’s council member. After the remarks and a second word of prayer, the crowd was invited to a reception held in the balconies overlooking the chambers to mingle with City staff and elected officials.
