I spent Sunday evening honoring death, a tradition most cultures have in some form. The Guadalupe Cultural Arts Center hosted a Día de los Muertos community celebration that featured traditions new and old including live performances, face painting, craft booths, and delicious sweet breads.

Most of my time was spend gawking at the beautifully decorated faces from all ages.  Everyone seemed to be in high spirits and proud to show off their make-up. Events like this are not only something to cherish, they are meant to remember and celebrate the lives of the loved ones you have lost.
