The former director of government affairs for the San Antonio Board of Realtors will take the helm of the North San Antonio Chamber of Commerce, the organization announced Wednesday.
Brent Finley has been appointed CEO and president effective Nov. 28.
“We are excited to welcome Brett Finley as our new CEO and President,” stated Danny Zimmermann, chairman of the board of the North San Antonio and president of Cleary Zimmermann Engineers. “His impressive background and dynamic leadership style will be invaluable as we continue to serve and support the local business community.”
The North San Antonio chamber, which represents more than 1,200 member businesses, has been searching for a new CEO since Cristina Aldrete stepped down in late 2022. The chamber briefly discussed a merger with the Greater San Antonio Chamber of Commerce but ultimately chose to remain independent.
Finley “worked with elected officials, protected private property rights and helped shape real estate policies in the San Antonio region” in his previous role, which he held for more than five years, according to his LinkedIn profile. His responsibilities included preparing advanced communications for high-level external audiences, managing events and leadership programs.
Before that role, Finley was a field representative for the Texas Association of Realtors, according to his LinkedIn profile, worked as a bill resolutions analyst for the Texas Legislative Council and spent a year in the Texas House of Representatives as an analyst and communications coordinator.
“I am honored to be selected to sustain and strengthen the North San Antonio Chamber’s influence in the San Antonio community,” said Finley in the release. “I am committed to working with our members and partners to create a unified front that champions the economic vitality of our region.”
Finley earned a master’s degree in political science and a bachelor’s degree in exercise science from Texas State University.
