As part of its annual weeklong challenge to practice thankfulness and charity, H-E-B partnered with Christian Senior Services’ Meals On Wheels and other local nonprofits to deliver about 2,000 free Thanksgiving meals to homebound senior citizens in the San Antonio area this week. Around 3,400 seniors depend on the services of Meals on Wheels to get nutritious meals on a regular basis, and thanks to a team of volunteers, Thanksgiving Day will be no different.
“Most of my older family members are already deceased,” dinner recipient Yvonne Woodard said. “I’m looking forward to getting my Meal on Wheels. That’s what I’m waiting for.”
