For decades, Kelly Air Force Base was central to the lives of thousands of San Antonians. Generations of civilians from throughout the region found lifelong careers at the former base. It was a foundation that allowed them to raise families and build their futures.

And for many of those employees, Kelly was also the place where their families began as they worked side-by-side with their future spouses.

John and Sylvia Bradbury are among those couples. They met when he was an aviation technician and she worked in the aircraft paint shop. Decades later, Sylvia continues her work at Kelly Field as a dedicated employee of StandardAero.

Today, Sylvia and John reminisce about their enduring bond that began at Kelly.
