When it comes to Thanksgiving, three things typically come to mind: food, family, and prepping for Black Friday — at least for the team at Ivy Hall! Led by the incredible Chef Tim the Girl, the members of the Ivy Hall team believe that friends are often just as much a part of family as those related to us, which is why they have always loved the idea of Friendsgiving. At the same time, they also love creating unique, over-the-top, vibrant, and fun events.

This year, Ivy Hall is hosting its own version of Friendsgiving with a twist that combines loved ones, local shopping, and instead of another meal, cocktails along with live music. You’re invited to attend Ivy Hall’s Friendsgiving Market on Friday, Nov. 26 at 7 p.m.

There will be local vendors selling unique holiday gifts, a cocktail sampling by Milam & Greene, a DJ from 7-9 p.m., and live music by the Texases from 9 p.m.-midnight. Admission is $20. Tickets are available at https://www.eventbrite.com/e/friendsgiving-at-the-good-kind-tickets-196083640447.

Ivy Hall is a hip event venue located in the heart of San Antonio’s Southtown just minutes from downtown in the King William neighborhood. Upon arrival you will be met with lush landscape, forever wild gardens, and an interior that screams Texas modern. The best part? Ivy Hall is also the home of the ever-fabulous kitchen of Chef Tim the Girl in the venue’s onsite restaurant, The Good Kind. The green oasis is perfect for weddings, retreats, corporate events, dinners, concerts, photo shoots, cocktail parties, ceremonies, and any type of private event the Ivy Hall team can help you imagine. But the Ivy Hall team is also known for community events that have recently included:

  • Evenings at Ivy: A chef-driven event where guests explored a variety of cuisines from local chefs from our community. Proceeds benefited the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
  • Foodie First Friday: A food truck series featuring food truck entrepreneurs on the Ivy Hall property.
  • Dia de los Muertos: A week-long tribute to DDLM on the property of Ivy Hall that included community ofrenda, live music, and live artists.

In addition to the beautiful gardens on the property, Ivy Hall also features a charming vine-covered converted warehouse with elegantly appointed restrooms, a staging area, and amenities, as well as a funky container building that can be used as an outdoor bar, VIP area, or bridal suite.

Capacity at Ivy Hall ranges from 90 guests seated inside to 140 for cocktails. For Ivy Hall and the gardens, it’s 400 seated guests and 500 for cocktails. If you’d like to rent the entire property, including The Good Kind restaurant, there is capacity for 500 seated guests and 750 for cocktails.

James Beard Fellow and Food Network “Chopped” competitor, Tim the Girl is the exclusive caterer and chef at Ivy Hall. Chef Tim McDiarmid has been serving vibrant, imaginative, fresh food in San Antonio and Hill Country since 2011. At Ivy Hall, McDiarmid and her team create customized menus focusing on local and artisanal food sources to create extraordinary culinary experiences for guests.
