Former Frost Bank president Pat Frost is stepping in to lead the Greater Chamber of Commerce until it finds a new chief.
The chamber’s current president and CEO, Jeff Webster, plans to retire Dec. 2.
Webster announced his move last month, as two other top staffers were also leaving for other opportunities.

The chamber’s board unanimously selected Frost to serve as an interim leader at its Aug. 31 board meeting.
Frost is a previous Greater Chamber board chair, making an unusual transition to the frontlines of the organization’s policy efforts.
He recently played a big role in the Spurs’ Win Together campaign last November, which secured the public funding for a new downtown NBA arena.
Greater Chamber Chairman Kevin C. Dinnin said Frost will be volunteering his time while the chamber continues looking for a new permanent leader.
“We owe a debt of gratitude to Pat,” Dinnin said in a statement Thursday. “I can’t think of anyone better to lead the organization during this transition.”
Webster said he’d spend his remaining months helping help Frost navigate the new role.
“As I prepare for my retirement, I am pleased to know that Pat will be assuming the interim leadership of this great organization,” Webster said.
