Thursday from 7:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m., Sound Cream Sunset Sessions at Civic Park in Hemisfair turns its focus to the Rio Grande Valley, presenting DJ Flacucho & Mala Mia hailing from McAllen. Get ready to dance at this free outdoor party, with no shoes required.

Friday at 7 p.m., the 28th annual Cactus Pear Music Festival presents “On The Fly,” a chamber music concert featuring the works of Rebecca Clarke, Beethoven and George Gershwin. Concerts are held in Diane Bennack Hall at University of the Incarnate Word.

Saturday from noon to 6 p.m. head to Centro Cultural Aztlan for El Gran Día de los Artistas, a free community event celebrating the nonprofit’s 47th anniversary. Live music, poetry, dance, art demonstrations and an artisan market featuring 25 local artists.

Sunday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., Urban-15 celebrates its 50th anniversary with a free “Semi-Centennial Celebration” at their South Presa Street headquarters. DJ Despeinada will spin and Los de Esta Noche will perform raucously danceable live music. 

Just another magic Monday? Take a guided tour of the grand old Hermann Sons building downtown. For $10, the tour starts in the Rathskeller Bar downstairs, then proceeds to the upstairs bowling alley, ballroom and rooftop.
