As part of its recent growth efforts, PlainsCapital Bank has announced that Derrich Rodriguez has joined its San Antonio lending group as senior vice president and senior commercial loan officer at its Fountainhead location at 8200 W I-10, Suite 120.
“We’re proud to welcome Derrich to PlainsCapital’s talented team of lenders in San Antonio,” said Steve Hambrick, Texas region chairman. “His in-depth commercial lending experience will add value to our continued efforts to support Texas’ and San Antonio’s business climate.” Rodriguez will focus on expanding PlainsCapital’s business development efforts in San Antonio and manage loan and deposit portfolios for the bank’s commercial lending clientele across Texas.
As a longtime resident of San Antonio, Rodriguez has two decades of banking experience in the area, including commercial real estate and Small Business Administration lending. He joins from Amegy Bank, where he served as senior vice president of the commercial real estate banking group for seven years. Prior to his time there, he served as vice president of Comerica’s national real estate services for more than five years.
“PlainsCapital’s reputation as a leading Texas bank is well known across the Lone Star State,” said Rodriguez. “Because San Antonio has historically been a very business-friendly environment, PlainsCapital Bank’s high-quality commercial lending products and services are a good fit for the market. I’m thrilled to join their team and begin providing local business leaders with the lending solutions they need to pursue their goals.”
PlainsCapital Bank entered the San Antonio market in 2004 with the opening of its flagship branch at Renaissance Plaza. PlainsCapital’s San Antonio banking group has continued to serve as a banking partner to businesses and individuals across the region, opening three additional branches in the Alamo City over the last several years.
“PlainsCapital Bank has been working to expand our San Antonio banking team, which caters to one of the fastest-growing regions in Texas and in the U.S.,” said Hambrick. “Derrich is well versed in the commercial banking needs of San Antonio residents. With his far-reaching financial services experience and strong community roots, PlainsCapital will remain well-positioned to offer the San Antonio area competitive service and products as a leading Texas bank.”
Rodriguez received a Bachelor of Business Administration in finance from Texas State University. He is a member of Rey Feo Consejo Educational Foundation, chairman of the St. Anthony Catholic School Board of Trustees, and a member of the Leadership San Antonio Class 45. He previously served on the Real Estate Council San Antonio Board, the San Antonio Chamber Finance Committee, and the San Antonio chapter president of the Texas State Alumni Association Board of Directors.
