With Presidents’ Day on Monday, many San Antonians will have a three-day weekend to celebrate Valentine’s Day. Stop by the Pearl to hear some love songs on Friday night, visit the Witte Museum to explore your backyard, or go to Johnston Branch Library to learn how to preserve family treasures.
Field Trip – San Antonio Botanical Garden
This Valentine’s Day, Audubon Society’s Karen Moulder leads a bird-watching tour through the San Antonio Botanical Garden; meet her at the entrance to the gardens. Botanical Garden members may participate for free, while non-members pay $12 and non-members over 65 pay $10.

Art Party: Galentine’s Day
Celebrate Valentine’s Day the right way – with your gals! The Parks and Recreation-made holiday has stayed strong since Leslie Knope first introduced it in 2010, and the San Antonio Museum of Art marks its last Art Party collaboration with KRTU 91.7 FM on Friday by honoring it. Walley Films 10th Anniversary
Husband-and-wife filmmaking duo Mark and Angela Walley show their early work and short documentaries on Friday in the backyard of Sala Diaz. Film screenings start at 7:30 p.m., and the dance party starts at 9 p.m. The Walleys hold Valentine’s Day dear to their hearts, as they shared their first kiss, got engaged, and were married on Valentine’s Days over the years. The suggested donation of $10 will benefit Sala Diaz.

Basura Bash
It’s the 26th annual Basura Bash, which means it’s time to clean up trash from our waterways! There are 22 areas where volunteers can meet to pick up trash, but not all of them still need volunteers. Registration runs from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m., and clean-up begins at 9 a.m. Volunteers should wear long pants and closed-toed shoes; work gloves might be helpful, as well. Volunteers also need to bring a completed liability form with them to the event.

Baby Day
The San Antonio Public Library celebrates the second annual Baby Day with First3Years. From 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., participants can enjoy more than 30 interactive activities designed for infants and toddlers – including an infant massage class, a mini-performance from a San Antonio Symphony member, and song and story times. There will also be experts on hand to answer questions about communication, immunization, and nutrition.

Backyard Adventures at the Witte Museum
The Witte Museum opens its latest exhibit, Backyard Adventures, on Saturday.
