More than 1 million people are expected to move to San Antonio and the region by the year 2040. To accommodate the future influx of people, the City has invested in the long-term planning initiative SA Tomorrow, a planning effort that includes comprehensive, sustainability, and transportation plans.

More residents also means more housing. The City is moving forward with its first-ever affordable housing bond process by identifying potential areas viable for development. On Wednesday, Dec. 14 City Council will discuss the proposed housing bond and vote the following day on whether to include the urban renewal project in the May 6, 2017 city election.
