An only child of a pro-football-playing, horse-racing, boxing promoter dad and school-marm mom, Susan Korbel was schooled in Detroit in the 1950s. In the ‘60s, she Ivy Leagued-it while swimming on the men’s team, then married a comedian and moved to San Francisco. She earned a Ph.D. to change the world, moved to Washington, D.C., for political advocacy in the ‘70s, only to move to Texas and work within the system in the ‘80s. Thirty years ago, she started Core Research, Inc. which listens to voters and consumers as they tell her how to make her clients better.
