City of San Antonio Councilman Ron Nirenberg and City of Leon Valley Mayor Chris Riley are the 2015 Chair and Vice Chair of AACOG’s Air Improvement Resources (AIR) Executive Committee. The Committee guides the local air quality planning efforts of the region. The mission of the committee is to facilitate the completion of air quality studies and planning activities that address attainment of federal air pollution standards and to develop, with the assistance of the AIR Technical Committee, AIR Advisory Committee, and AACOG staff, a comprehensive emission reduction plan that will guide our region’s actions to remain in attainment of federal standards. The AIR Executive Committee’s membership includes elected officials representing the San Antonio-New Braunfels Metropolitan Statistical Area (MSA).
