Ivy R. Taylor was appointed mayor of San Antonio in July 2014, then, elected to the position in June 2015. Mayor Taylor is focused on making San Antonio a globally competitive city where all residents are connected to opportunities for prosperity. Her major initiatives include developing a sustainable City budget, maintaining basic infrastructure, and growing the workforce. Mayor Taylor holds degrees from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and Yale University.
