San Antonio residents are invited to provide their input and suggestions on the SA Tomorrow Comprehensive Plan at several neighborhood workshops scheduled for next week. With more than one million people expected to move into the San Antonio region within the next 25 years, SA Tomorrow’s long-range planning effort allows the City of San Antonio to address challenges and opportunities related to growth.

The SA Tomorrow initiative is three plans in one single planning phase. The Comprehensive plan covers all topics, from housing to education. The Transportation and Sustainability plans focus mainly on issues associated with those plans, and both plans feed into the Comprehensive plan to create one overarching strategy to manage growth. SA Tomorrow gives City leadership a better understanding of these issues and incorporates them into a comprehensive plan to provide policy direction and guidance through 2040.
“While San Antonio has made tremendous progress in many areas, such as enhancements to the arts and culture arena, additional parks and public spaces and improvements in transportation, there is still much more we can do to improve the quality of life for ourselves and our children,” Mayor Ivy R. Taylor said. “Our community— families, students, professionals, seniors, military personnel and everyone else who lives, works and plays here— has a significant opportunity to make San Antonio even greater.”

The City’s Department of Planning and Community Development will host four neighborhood workshops next week to gather input on the Comprehensive Plan.
