Fiesta is in full gear, with events throughout the city. This week’s Go Do That! offers some slightly out-of-the-way Fiesta options amid art on a roof, rock ‘n’ roll and San Antonio baseball history.

Thursday from 6-8 p.m., head to the rooftop at Artpace to see artist Jimmy James Canales don a lifesize, self-portrait box kite in a performance titled “Papalote Dreams.”

The Friday Fiesta schedule shows a couple of fascinating events: GartenFest at Beethoven Halle and Garten in Southtown, where the German-style beer will flow, suspended in an atmosphere of delicious bratwurst and sauerkraut. The daylong Fredstock music festival at San Antonio College will get down with such illustrious local bands as Lemon Disco, Retro Cowgirl and Fea.

Lowcountry holds its very own Rock ‘n’ Roll Fiesta on Saturday from 4-9 p.m. featuring Sunjammer, madhouse rockers The Shut Ups and the arty Powdered Wig Machine.

Sunday afternoon, the San Antonio African American Community Archive and Museum presents Home Base Heroes: Living Legends of the South Texas Negro League, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Davis-Scott Family YMCA on Iowa Street. Free!
