Northside ISD is the largest school district in Bexar County, serving more than 100,000 students. This year four out of its seven school board seats will be elected on the May 3 ballot, all of which feature incumbents in contested reelection races.
NISD uses single-member districts, meaning each candidate represents a specific geographic region. Find out which district you live in here.

In District 2, Homer Guevara was appointed to fill a vacancy in 2024 and now faces three challengers in his bid for a first full term. District 5 trustee Corinne Saldaña is seeking a second term in District 5, and faces one challenger.
Meanwhile District 6 trustee Carol Harle and District 7 trustee Karen Freeman are both longtime members, elected in 2013 and 2005 respectively, and each face one opponent.
Board members serve four-year terms, and the remaining seats will be up for reelection in 2027. Races are decided by a plurality vote, meaning the candidate with the most votes wins outright on May 3.
Among the major issues the next board will have to address is a $98 million budget deficit. The district is already considering cost-saving measures like increasing class sizes.
Early voting runs April 22 through April 29 for the May 3 election, and voters who live in Bexar County can choose from any of these 46 early voting locations.
NISD voters who live in Medina and Bandera County who are eligible to vote for District 6 and District 7 must go to Northside Activity Center during early voting. On election day, these voters can go to the activity center, Henderson Elementary School or Aue Elementary School. Hours vary by date and location.
