VIA Metropolitan Transit will offer special shuttle and park-and-ride services for football fans attending the Jan. 2 Valero Alamo Bowl game between the University of Oregon Ducks and the Texas Christian University Horned Frogs.
For a $2.50 fare each way, with cash and card payment options, VIA buses will pick up passengers from the Crossroads Park & Ride, the Madla Transit Center and the Blossom Athletic Center. A VIA Downtown Special Event Shuttle will also pick up riders from specially marked stops along Market and Commerce Streets. The shuttle costs $1.30 each way and exact fare is required.
Bus and shuttle services will begin at 2:45 p.m. and run for an hour after the end of the game, which will start at 5:45 p.m.
“Whatever the time the game ends, we stay an hour longer,” said VIA spokesperson Lorraine Pulido. “If the game ends at 11 p.m. we stay open ’til midnight.”
