As the holiday season approaches and the year draws to a close, Valero’s commitment to community, safety and environmentally responsible fuel production remains unwavering. Throughout 2024, Valero has continued to demonstrate its dedication to San Antonio and the communities where it operates.

Valero’s United Way campaigns across all communities are progressing toward a remarkable goal, aiming to surpass last year’s $20 million company-wide contribution. In San Antonio, Valero and its local employees recently pledged an impressive $7 million to United Way of San Antonio and Bexar County, which will be distributed in 2025. This commitment was matched by the hands-on support of more than 275 Valero volunteers, who dedicated their time to Mission Road Ministries — a local organization that provides services to individuals with developmental needs. The company’s culture of caring, through giving and volunteering, is a reflection of the heart of its people.

The company’s business partners also play a pivotal role in these efforts, offering continuous support for impactful events like the Valero Texas Open and the Valero Benefit for Children (BFC). This support provides millions of dollars for programs addressing basic needs, education and health care services. Together with Valero, this partnership network has a lasting impact on the families and communities it serves, highlighting a shared commitment to uplifting the lives of many.

On the business front, Valero remains focused on growth and long-term competitive advantage. The Diamond Green Diesel (DGD) Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) project at the Port Arthur refinery is complete and is now in the startup phase. This success reflects the expertise and dedication of Valero’s projects, operations teams and business partners, who worked collaboratively to complete the project on time, safely and under budget. The new SAF unit is expected to become one of the largest SAF manufacturing operations globally. With more than $5.4 billion invested in low-carbon fuel businesses since 2009, Valero has solidified its role as the world’s largest producer of liquid low-carbon transportation fuels.

Valero is proud to foster a culture of leadership and positive change, both within the industry and in the communities it serves. As the holiday season approaches, Valero extends warm wishes to its partners and community members, celebrating the shared values that bring people together and have guided the company since the very beginning.
