Even with $20 million from the city’s federal coronavirus relief funds, CPS Energy’s debt from customers with overdue bills continues to grow.

CPS Energy’s Calaveras Power Station generates energy in Southeast San Antonio on Saturday. The station features a two-unit coal power plant named J.K. Spruce. The Spruce units are the largest single greenhouse gas-emitting facilities in Bexar County.
