Visions in Legos: Community hopes to preserve historic Alazán Courts

About 40 residents and Westside community members gathered Saturday to talk about the future of Alazán Courts, San Antonio’s first public housing project, that was previously slated for demolition.

Construction workers at Harry H. Rogers Middle School are working on a new extension to the main campus. In November 2020, SAISD voters approved a $1.21 billion bond. A part of these funds will go to 15 campuses that were partially renovated under the 2016 and 2010 bonds. Austin-based architecture firm, Pfluger, was awarded the contract to renovate this campus.
