Thinking about a Hawaiian vacation? For the next best thing, head to San Antonio Parks Foundation’s free Garden Rhythms music series event Thursday night from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Japanese Tea Garden for traditional lei-making, a Hawaiian dance performance and signature beverage presented by Aloha San Antonio.

Friday from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Clamp Light Studios and Gallery, the Grounded in Green exhibition features two dozen artists and 333 green paintings. Church Burger will be on hand, slinging smashies to help you contemplate angel numbers while you peruse the art.

The Guadalupe Cultural Arts Center presents Westside native filmmaker Severo Perez, who will read from his new book Filmmaker’s Journey Friday night at a free event from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Perez will be joined by author Leti Cavazos reading from her story collection Self-Care for Chingonas. Then on Saturday at 4 p.m. see Perez’s film …and the Earth Did Not Swallow Him at the Alamo Drafthouse Park North, part of this year’s CineFestival.

Artist Kaldric Dow presents Pastel Expressions, a new portrait exhibition opening Saturday from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Eye of the Beholder Gallery.

Sunday at sunset, the tunes of artist and songwriter Daniel Johnston will waft under the Echo Bridge, performed by four groups including Jad Fair and the Placebos, Kathy McKarty, Amy Annelle and Little Mazarn. Tickets are $15.
