Tom Baker previously served on the 5th Court of Appeals in Austin, but was one of many Democratic appellate judges swept out of office in the 2024 election. He is a U.S. Navy veteran who earned his law degree from the University of Houston Law Center. He currently works in private practice in Killeen. He is unopposed in the Democratic primary and faces Republican incumbent Scott Field in November.
