Thomas Smith works in Attorney General Ken Paxton’s office, and previously worked under in Paxton’s Texas Senate office. He has a law degree from Ohio State University and was a lawyer on President Donald Trump’s Election Integrity Team. He’s one of four Republicans running to replace incumbent Republican Justice Bert Richardson, who is seeking a position on a lower court instead of running for reelection. The winner of the Republican primary will face Democrat Okey Anyiam in November.
