Please tell voters about yourself.

I’m Santos Limon, a small business owner here in the USA and also in Latin America. I design high speed rail and commuter rail all over the world. I am also in the energy sector and import into the USA. I also have a pecan farm and import produce into the USA. I live here in San Antonio .

What three issues do you consider to be most pressing for your district and how would you address them?

  1. Economic Development & Infrastructure: TX-23 has three of the poorest counties in our nation. We have several counties with 6%+ unemployment. I will bring an Eco Culture high speed train 220mph from El Paso to San Antonio and back to promote Eco tourism in our district. TX-23 has a number of State Parks and National Parks, and tourism will bring the growth and stability our district needs. We will also bring back manufacturing. We are also working with farmers on turning our TX-23 into the capitol Pomegranate of Texas.
  2. Healthcare: Our TX-23 has several colonias to this date and our rural communities are struggling if not some even die due to lack of medical benefits or facilities. I will help and work with local clinics and hospitals and all our first responders with building and funding more infrastructure that is needed. I will lower the price of our country’s 10 most used medications. Reform Obamacare and fund more programs like Medicaid and Medicare.
  3. Gun control: We have been advocating for making the Florida 2018-gun bill a national policy. We need this bill nationwide NOW.

How would you approach Congress’ ongoing gridlock on numerous issues including spending bills?

Congress is broken today… Our U.S. House needs a bipartisan politician that can sit and work to help our country move forward. On our spending bills we need to address all the issues at hand. By lowering interest rates and working on our debt deficit to allow more bank lending and finally work to lower CREDIT CARD debt.

Describe your approach to being an effective lawmaker in order to best serve the needs of voters in your district?

In one year and three months of campaigning we have identified all 29 counties’ needs. From infrastructure to agriculture, ranching cattle and livestock. We also have visited all national parks within our district and have identified all needs they have been struggling with for many years. Working with all five of our international crossings we have identified infrastructure issues and needs. Our public schools are also in dire need of funds for infrastructure and upgrades. Federal and state law enforcement institutions are also in dire needs of funds and help with old infrastructure. As a leader and lawmaker, I will continue listening to the people and making action and not promises.

How would you solicit input and feedback from residents in your district?

In a year and three months of campaigning we created teams of coalitions that are today working throughout 29 counties. By keeping them active I will always be in contact with my constituents. I also plan on doing ONE on ONE interviews when elected officials throughout my district — a practice I learned while at Union Pacific Railroad.
