Maggie Ellis currently serves on the 3rd Court of Appeals in Austin and has a background in juvenile law. After working as a school teacher and raising four kids, she received her law degree from Baylor University and worked as an administrative law judge, a prosecutor and a trial attorney. She is one of two Democrats seeking their party’s nomination to challenge Republican Chief Justice Jimmy Blacklock in November.
